Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Beautiful photo, love to view this everyday . I would advise getting this in a large size or you might be disappointed not getting a wonderful photo. Mine is 20by 30 and is just perfect. Wonderful photographer .
